side flutes with a ‘Chinese’ sound modification , -  middle eastern vertical reed flutes, ‘Nays’ - 
Indian ‘Vamshas’, ancient predecessors of the Nay, made from bamboo and

‘Amachis’, vertical flutes, sounding similar to Shaku Hachi,
ergonomically shaped – usually  easier to play than S.H., with

7 holes, tuned to the western concert pitch, velvet or palm leaf sheath,
plain or with individually designed bird heads and/or mother of pearl inlays
